Zooma scooters have been nothing but trouble for many consumers. These scooters have even caused several incidences where kids got scrapes, cuts and bruises because of the malfunctioning of nearly all the parts on Zooma scooters. Many frustrated consumers want full refunds of their money and they hope Zooma scooters will be recalled because they tend to be consistently harmful. There are complaints from people who bought Zooma scooters for their children as gifts and in each case something broke, eventually causing other things to break.
The handle bars breaking is a common complaint. The bolts on many of these consumers Zooma scooter came loose or completely fell off after just a few weeks of having the scooter. Some people tried welding the handle bars in place themselves, but often they came loose again. Others tried returning the Zooma scooters with broken handle bars to the store they purchased it from. Most of the people returning it found that the stores are not willing to comply with their request and told customers they must directly contact the Zooma company.
Having the handle bars break off is a serious malfunction of Zooma scooters. Several people told that when this happened, their kids flipped over the scooter onto the pavement, scraping themselves up. Parents worried that the scooters could have caused more grief if the situation where their children where thrown off the scooter had been worsened by traffic being present.
Other complaints included parts breaking all over the scooter. Some consumers found that after riding Zooma scooters just a few times, the bolts began to loosen at parts all over the scooter. This can endanger anyone. There are also a few complaints about the engine breaking on Zooma scooters. Some heard the engine cracking and then it completely shut off. The company will not comply with any warranty requests if you open the engine to check things out yourself. There was one incident where one person was riding a Zooma scooter and the motor broke off the foothold.
A couple consumers have had problems with the tires and braking of Zooma scooters. Some have had a tire lock up while riding Zooma scooters, which is extremely dangerous because this causes you to flip over the top of the scooter onto the pavement. Other consumers who found their Zooma scooters with a flat tire not long after making the purchase, tried to replace the tire. Replacing the tire was found to be a very difficult task because the tires were not designed to fit very well.
Of all these complaints one of the things they had in common was that every time their Zooma scooters broke and the customer tried to replace the part, getting the replacement parts was very difficult. Customers would call the company, explain their complaint and be reassured that a replacement part was in the mail. It often took weeks longer to get any parts than what the company had said. Finding any information on the positive side of Zooma scooters is difficult. Just be cautious when using Zooma scooters. Just about any other brand of scooters would be a better choice.
